Podcast #12: HowToIncreaseYourChancesOfSellingYourItemsOnline

So this episode is an oldie but still a goodie. What do I mean by that?

This episode is taken from a FB Live I did on my Facebook Page, back in October 2020. 7 months after the pandemic hit. By this time, we’ve all been pretty much stuck at home and keeping to ourselves. Lots of things were shut down and there was no kind of gathering whatsoever.

And because of us all being homebound for months, people were well into reorganizing, decluttering and renovating their homes. They still are today, even with life getting back to some kind of normal, 2 years later. And, I don’t think it’ll stop anytime soon. This pandemic has taught us a lot, changed us in more ways than we ever could imagine and among many things, it also got us to look at our space a little differently.

So when I created that video back in 2020, “How To Increase Your Chances Of Selling Your Items Online ”, it was to encourage people to DO SOMETHING with their items they just decluttered and not just let it sit at the curb, or in some corner of the house waiting for the next time they can go out and drop it off at a donation center. I think at the time, I can’t even remember now, IF the donation centers WERE taking anything.

Anyway, I wanted to encourage people to get their things moving and out of their house, and make some money while doing that. With times being so uncertain, it was a way to get people excited and in control of their lives. Plus, who doesn’t like to make a little money now and again?

Add to that, the space you’re creating in your home brings so much clarity in your mind, lifts the weight off your shoulders that you literally feel lighter and it also feels like you’re breathing a little better. Kind of like a breath of fresh air now that there’s more room for air to circulate!

It’s that beautiful time of the year again, or at the time of this recording, it’s riiight around the corner and it’s typically THE prompt for thousands and thousands of people across the country, to do that ‘thing’ at this time of year: Spring Cleaning!

And unlike the word ‘cleaning’ in Spring Cleaning, this activity often goes far beyond washing, airing out and sweeping up the cobwebs. It also involves organizing and reorganizing too!

Now since the Pandemic started, we’ve all had a chance to take a step back and look within our own space and surroundings.  Some have completely revamped their homes, while others are going at it step by step.  Nevertheless in the last 2 years, the concept of ‘spring cleaning’ has gone from the beginning of spring to early summer TO an all-year event!

Tell me of someone who hasn’t cleared out or organized a space in their home, office, car, even relationships… in the last 2 years.  OK the last one is not part of the traditional sense of Spring Cleaning but this is a time of year to start fresh!

Podcast #10: 3 Tips To Making Bathroom Cleaning So Easy, The Kids Will Want To Do It

The bathroom is either a place of chaos, comfort, a quiet zone or all of the above and everything else in between.  It’s a busy common area that if we equip ourselves and set the space up, we can totally achieve that ideal space that we resort to from time to time, or every night to escape into the World Wide Web, where most ideas and inspiration are not the only things being formed, but one of the only spaces where we can lock ourselves in from those once-cute, and now, grubby hands and constant questions: “What are you doing?” and “Can I have a snack?”

So in today’s episode I’m going to give you 3 tips to help make your bathroom easy to clean for you and the kids.  Grab a paper and pen my friend, a yummy coffee or take this all in as you go out and about.  These tips are some you may want to try, test out and, oh man, reap the benefits of easy cleaning that’s not only done by you!

Raise Responsible Kids

Podcast #9: My Secret Sauce to Setting Up The Kids For Success!

The topic I chose to talk about, in today’s episode, is the basis of how I approach things with my kids. Call it the BLUEPRINT on how to teach my kids and get them to be more and more independent, feel confident and empowered so that I, myself, feel comfortable and confident; and that they’ve got the basics, or foundations in place for the next level that will eventually all add up to THEM becoming self-sufficient, capable, responsible adults.

This is the foundation of what we do to Set our Kids up For Success!

In this episode, I unveil how we started and what got the ball rolling for us to have this mindset; the logic behind our thinking that benefits all of us, and the one thing you can do to make your life easier!

I’ve had TONS and TONS of conversations and discussions over the last…. 10+ years about this with my sisters, friends, other parents as well as with clients.  Basically – everyone! But these conversations were always snippets of what I’m about to talk with you about today.

Podcast #8: Kitchen Organization Basics

Ahhhh!  They often say the heart of the home is the kitchen. Do you agree?

It’s where we express so much joy or disgust – but mostly, and hopefully, the former among family, friends and where most conversations begin.  It’s where the kids dump their bags and decompress from the day’s events and ask in unison: can I have a snack? Or they just quickly grab it themselves.  It’s also where we spend some time scratching our heads and dreading that awful question – What’s for dinner?

I’m cringing now just saying it.

So in today’s episode it’s all about Kitchen Organization that makes sense for your family.

Podcast #5: When to Organize Lego: By Color or By Category and the Best Way to Store it

Do you still have your Lego sets from when you were a kid? Have you been holding onto them since the 80s and 90s, so that you can enjoy them once again with your kids this time?

In this episode we’re talking about Lego. More specifically, organizing it. This beast of a task, and I’ll  say this coming from a Lego family w  ho’s had 4 different iterations of organizing in the last few years …is crucial if you want your kids to keep building and creating for many years to come, if it’s it’s something they ask for at every birthday or Holiday and… if you care for your feet – then this is an episode you won’t want to miss!

I’ll talk about  When to Organize Lego: by color or by category and the best way to store it

Lego – is timeless: from childhood to 99 years young! This is  a toy that totally opens up those creative pathways and keeps the generations connected.

Our pile has some original pieces from the 80s that my husband and his brothers played with when they were younger. Since our oldest  has come to an age where he can play with Lego without us worrying about him swallowing pieces, the collection has grown exponentially. He’s now 11at the time of this recording.  And his siblings have followed the same path.

They request for sets on birthdays and Holidays then there are the surprise ones from my uncle – who, he himself, is a HUGE fan, have contributed to the Lego explosion chez nous.

But who could blame them though? Le go does a really great job at coming up with some awesome and amazing builds.  You can’t help but stop at a Lego store to see what’s on display!

Now that the holidays are long gone and over with, whether your kids have just gotten their first set or just added to their growing collection, it’s a good time to establish a really good system so that:

It’ll be played with often because the pieces are accessible enough and easy to sift through
That they’re stored in a logical way that promotes creativity and more building, and
That the pieces don’t get lost or end up with you cursing IN PAIN from that rogue piece that got lodged under your foot.

There are MANY ways of organizing Lego and you’ve probably tried a few of them too, with your own twist added  to it.
