Find out the differences and similarities between his take on chores vs his siblings, being the oldest child and what he’d do if he were the parent. Also, find out what it’s like at our home from following a chore chart to whether getting paid to do chores is preferred or not. Also, learn to start practicing positive parenting by listening to your children and having conversations with them about chores. Who knows what you’ll discover from these talks. #43: Adjusting To The Back to School Overwhelm

In this episode I talk about this crazy period in the parenthood journey and that’s Back To School.

Back to school isn’t just a one day event. This is actually the starting off point of when things start to change dramatically for everyone, not just the kids. As our schedules fill up, things need to be taken care of on top of all the things LIFE is throwing at us, it’s easy to get lost, confused and overwhelmed.

This is a huge adjustment period most of us go through at least once a year. Unfortunately, some go through it alone. Listen to this much-needed-to-be-talked-about podcast episode to help you cope with the overwhelm. I give you ONE simple strategy as well as guide you to do this 1 thing, so you don’t feel like you’re at this alone.

Hope you find this episode helpful – Enjoy!

#42: Chores and Kids – Interview with Kenzo

This is the second episode of a series of 3 where I have an honest conversation with my 9 year-old about :

helping around the house
what they’d do (better) if they were the parents, and
what’s it like being kid the 3rd kid
Chore charts
And so much more!

AS parents it’s important for us to maintain expectations and responsibilities within the household for everyone to feel more organized, fulfilled and find their place within our house. By doing so, we can ensure that everyone is working together and understanding each other’s perspectives in maintaining the home.

I hope you enjoy this episode!

41: Chores: Interview With My Daughter Kehlani

Today’s episode is a special one. Well, actually the next couple of episodes are going to be special ones because I’ll be interviewing my kids and getting their insight and their opinion On this tool that we use to get them to help out at home so that everyone is contributing. They are learning life lessons along the way and getting more and more independent so that all of this will help them well into adulthood.

And just so you know, my kids have never been interviewed before formally and it’s them answering. There is not much coaching on my part. So, this episode that I have today is with my daughter.

#40: Being OK with the way our kids help out around the house

Do you often say: ‘Oh, I’ll just do it myself, it’s easier’ or ‘It’ll get done properly if I do it’ when it comes to maintaining your home?

You’re not alone.

Let’s face it, the way they do things isn’t the same way we do them nor the way we taught them how to do it.  It can cause frustrations sometimes and the temptation to just redo the whole thing ourselves (waste of time, by the way) or just do it ourselves from the get-go.

Resist.

In this episode you’ll learn the strategies I use to get passed through those thoughts and feelings so tune in.  Hope you enjoy this episode my friend!

#38: Reduce Overwhelm and Frustrations When Maintaining Your Home

Managing your household tasks can be a lot on your mental health and well-being – especialyl if it falls on 1 person most of the time.  As busy parents, we tend to truck through the every day grind on top of all our other obligations such as work, taking care of the kids and trying to squeeze in time for our own projects and passions.  But WHAT IF, we had a system that could alleviate, even a little, the amount of overwhelm and frustrations we have when it comes to maintaining our home?

In this episode I take you step by step through a process that I’ve done myself for tasks that overwhelm me the most.  If you have tasks that you wish would just disappear, then have listen to this episode now and get ready to take action.

Enjoy friend!
