Why Small Wins Matter For Busy Moms
(Especially at the End of the Year)
As we wrap up 2025, it’s easy to focus on everything that didn’t get done. But the truth is, your small wins—the tiny actions, shifts, and systems you put in place—are what actually move your home and life forward.
In today’s episode, we’re flipping the script.
I’m walking you through how to spot your small wins, why they matter more than you think, and how they quietly build confidence, reduce overwhelm, and create real momentum… even when life feels chaotic.
I’m also sharing a few personal examples and client stories to help you see the progress you’ve already made (even if it doesn’t feel like it).

Why Small Wins Matter Busy Moms
(Especially at the End of the Year)
As we coast into the final stretch of 2025, this is the moment where so many moms start spiraling into the “I should’ve… why didn’t I… I didn’t do enough…” mindset.
And honestly? It’s the fastest way to feel burnt out before January even shows up.
So instead of fixating on the stuff that didn’t happen, let’s do what actually moves the needle:
celebrate the small wins that made life smoother this year — even the imperfect ones.
These tiny shifts are what create real momentum at home, in your routines, and in how you show up as a mom and a business owner.
find out how families with 3+ kids tackle the beast: laundry!
What Exactly Is a “Small Win”?
Small wins are the little things you do that make your day run even 5% smoother.
In other words, they’re the tiny habits, micro-decisions, or one-minute improvements that don’t look flashy…
but add up big over time.
Think of wins like:
- Putting your keys in the same spot three days in a row
- A kid who now packs part of their own lunch
- Clearing off the dining table — even if it gets messy again
- Doing one load of laundry start-to-finish (we count that!)
- Prepping breakfast the night before
- Getting the kids out the door on time more often than not
That’s progress. It’s real. And it matters.
My Secret Sauce for setting the kids up for success
Why Small Wins Matter More Than “Big Goals” RIGHT NOW
Heading into the last month of the year, we’re all mentally fried. Big goals feel heavy. Huge to-do lists feel impossible. In addition, January pressure is already creeping in.
Therefore, small wins cut through the chaos because they’re:
- Manageable
- Repeatable
- Confidence-boosting
- Low-effort, high-impact
- Proof that you are making progress — even when life is busy
And for busy moms?
Small wins are the bridge between “I’m drowning” and “I’ve got this.”
A Few Real-Life Small Wins (That Moms Always Relate to)
In fact, a friend of mine recently told me she realized she wasn’t letting her kids help — not because they couldn’t, but because she wasn’t allowing for that opportunity. This was a huge realization and not something she would have even crossed her mind had she not heard me say over and over, in one way or another “let them”.
3 things to establish now before losing your s#!t later on (during the school year)
So, one day she decided to offer an opportunity to her daughter. This offer was asking if she would enjoy making her coffee in the mornings. Not only did her daughter accept, but she jumped for joy at the opportunity!
Talk about winning, right?
Hot coffee waiting for you in the morning and your teen’s enthusiasm about making it.
Was it perfect? No clue – that wasn’t the point. Letting go and just letting them try things, participate, be included?
That’s a win right there that turned into a BIG life upgrade.
Your Turn: What Was ONE Small Win in 2025?
As we near the end of 2025 and before you slide into the rest of December, ask yourself this last thing:
👉 What small win made your life easier this year?
Not the big changes — the tiny ones that kept you sane.
Free training: "How to find time in a busy schedule"
Maybe:
- You stopped re-folding your kids’ laundry and let “good enough” be good enough.
- You finally created a simple weekday routine.
- You started delegating real tasks to your kids.
- You used your calendar consistently for the first time ever.
None of these need to be perfect. They just need to be real.
Carry That Momentum Into the New Year
Finally, it’s your turn: Pick ONE small win from this year that you want to carry forward into December and January.
Just one.
Let that be your anchor habit.
Because here’s the truth:
➡️ The habits that stick are the ones you start small.
And if you need help turning your small win into a habit that lasts?
Make sure you follow the podcast — the Dec 18 episode will walk you through how to set up a habit that sticks before January even hits.
